Self-esteem refines to feeling competent and being worthy of happiness. A person with high self-esteem acquires positive self-concept. There are two interrelated components of self-esteem: self-efficacy and self-respect. When a person has high self-respect they are more likely to focus on the needs of others. Variety of early life experiences is the way self-esteem develops from.
