The Wizard of Oz & Populist Movement The populist movement and the wizard of Oz have a lot in commend. Not just on the time in which it was made or happened. But all of the charters from the wizard symbolize someone or something from the populist movement. The Wizard of Oz is just more then a movie but it help us understand what populist is. In my paper I hope to try to tell you about both The Wizard of Oz & Populist Movement and what the have in common. Dorothy goes on a quest to find the great wizard of OZ. On her way to Emerald city witch represents Washington and the color of money. Dorothy, bold, resourceful, leading the men around her toward success, is a juvenile Mary Lease, the Kansas firebrand who told her neighbors to raise less corn and more hell. On her way to Emerald city she meet 3 new guys that go with her to see Oz because the need something to. The scarecrow symbolizes the farmer. He goes on to visit Oz to ask for a brain. The farmers had were not very bright people and had no idea what was going and people thought that they were brainless. The Tin man symboli......
