Pearl Harbor Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The attack on Pearl Harbor was the day America entered World War II. From the time this secret attack was planned until day of the battle this event happened, it would have a strong impact on history. It would be remembered for years to come. Pearl Harbor was one of the major naval bases of the United States and was located about 10 km west of Honolulu, Hawaii. Hawaiians called Pearl Harbor “wai momi” or “pearl waters” because pearl oysters were once found there. At this time, World War II had already began and America refused to enter the war because they wanted to remain isolationist which means that they had no contact with any other country. They didn’t buy, sell or trade with any other country. The axis (Japan, Germany, Italy) was at the time winning and the allies (Britian,France,Ussr,China and the US) were losing big time. So the Japanese were taking over countries left and right because they wanted to expand their empire and they needed to stay in the war so oil was needed to power their war materials and since America was isolationist, they refused to trade so Japan go......
