Good and Evil in The Devil and Tom Walker:
The evil concept in the story is shown in many ways. Tom Walker represents mankind making see himself as being sinful and evil. When there’s intent to destroy, we get a different level of hatred. We can see that good vs. evil has been a popular theme in many writings.
The story "The Devil and Tom Walker" is about a man who lives a life full of greed. Walker lives in a wooded area, a quiet place of New England. He runs into the devil and sees that the devil is cutting down someone else's wood. The evil is shown, by the devil in how he is thinking about murdering a "Deacon Peabody". Walker analyzes this meeting with the devil, and recognizes that evil is wealth, and that’s his first priority.
Tom Walker's wife, was a really greed woman and she wanted the gold that the devil had promised. She was killed because of her greed, and no moral for self-prosperity. This is an important example of the use of evil in "The Devil and Tom Walker".
