For the longest time, cults have been thought of as almost the opposite of cults. However, when you go into detail, what are really the differences? There definitions are similar. They have similar begginnings in almost every feild. They are recruited for the most part in the same ways, and at one time there was no difference to the unbias eye. That's because there is no difference. Cults and religions are the same thing.
Religion and cults have very little differences in there deffinitions, meaning there is little if anything different about the two. The definition of cult is "a form of worship that emphasizes the ritual devotion to a god or person, as distinct from the theological aspect of religion." (Word, P.C., 1997, 315). The definition of religion on the other hand is "a group of people or community who worship something devine or supernatural." (Colin M. Bain, 1997, 311).
