Breaking of the Cracked Doll Nora is trapped within a “dollhouse” where she is obliged to follow her husband’s orders and stay home to take care of her children in order to maintain the perfect image of family and abide by the standards of her society. Though she seems incredibly passive to anything outside the home and extremely obedient toward her husband, Nora, as portrayed by Henrik Ibsen in A Doll’s House, is a rebellious figure who tries to fight against her entrapment within “Rupunzel’s Castle” and gain control within her life. Although Nora is trapped in a “Rupunzel’s Castle,” she tries to gradually break free from society’s confinement to establish control over her life by bending some of society’s rules when: she disobeys her husband behind his back, manipulates and deceives her husband and, questions the law and expresses herself un-according to societal values. First of all, even though Nora appears to be obedient and follow her husband’s word, she often strains from her “regulations” when he is not around and pertains from listening to him by: eating macaroons,......
