They break down food by means of enzymes which they secrete, absorb the small molecules that result, and use them as a source of energy. One of the byproduct of this is Carbon Dioxide gas. While comparing the two flasks I observe that flask A has foam in it, while flask B didn�t have any foam. Also flask A felt warmer than flask B, but the smelled the same.
