As the story goes, if one works hard with courage and determination; one can achieve prosperity. All of the characters in Of Mice and Men are unable to reach their ultimate dreams. The following essay take s a closer look at why the American Dream is unachievable. Although Crooks has hidden dreams of his own he criticizes Lennie; by saying: �Nobody goes to heaven an nobody gets no land� (Steinbeck 47) Perhaps he condemns Lennie�s dream because he knows that his are unreachable.
