Joan of Arc Joan of Arc was a significant woman during 1429 A.D. She was the first to stand up for her countrymen, when even the leaders of the country were not doing anything but dividing up the country and selling the pieces to the English. Everyone else feared being executed for treason, and would not stand up to face the English, who threatened to rob them all of their freedoms. Joan organized and trained the French army to fight as one, fight for their freedom, which led to a united France. Joan died the national hero and pa-tron saint of France. I chose to do research on Joan of Arc because I watched a movie about her before, and was interested in learning more about her life. Joan�s story was fascinating to me be-cause she was a woman who was determined to see her country be free. When doing re-search, I found more inaccuracies than accuracies. I would only recommend this movie for entertainment, not as an alternative to picking up a book and reading about Joan�s ef-forts to unite her country. I liked the movie because it did not start out like the other movies made....
