A Captain�s Leadership on the Court In sports it takes many leaders to run a team to victory and those leaders may not always shine in each play ran but they are there to help push others through when tough times call. There are 4 different types of leadership theories that will be explained within this case. Path-goal theory, Y theory, Contingency theory and Maslow�s Hierarchy theory, all are contained within a great leader. On the court with Division 1 Volleyball athletes, one will find tension, heart, strength, responsibility, relentless energy and passion for the game; I will be explaining four situations that I consider are great leadership examples. Everyday the Texas A&M volleyball team has practice for three hours and with that, they have weights twice a week. After a long day of school, they have to be able to perform at an intense and high level no matter how they feel that day. One athlete who stands out the most is the captain of the team, and is also considered a leader in my opinion. She is a leader in not just the eyes of her teammates but coaches and fans as well.....
