Huo Yuanjia was born in Xiaonan Village near the city of Tianjin, China in 1867. He was the fourth of ten children in his family (Uwe Pel and Xu, 1). His family had a tradition of practicing martial arts, but because Huo was born weak and sickly, his father would not teach him their family��s style of Kung Fu.
