Alex�s mother is one of the faithful communist party that always encourage their children to be independents and have respect for government for example in the film when the army was marching in the street, Alex didn�t really want to see the marching but his mother keep encourage him to have respect for the government. That example shows the difference between new generation (Alex) and old generation (Alex�s mother). This difference showing up when Alex�s mother see her son in the antigovernment movement which is cause her a heart attack and hospitalize her in coma. In my opinion the humor of goodbye Lenin starts at the point that Alex�s mother hospitalize in coma for eight month. The government has changed and there is no Berlin wall between east and west. The western democracy it came to east Germany for example Coca Cola, Berger King now they are in the east Germany as I think one of the good humor in this film when Alex�s s....
