The American system proposed by Henry clay was an economic plan for the United States that consisted of a high tariff on European goods, a national bank, and improvements on transportation and infrastructure. First it was not balanced because of the protective tariff which helped the north. Another reason the plan was unbalanced because the national bank was one of Hamilton�s visions. The only was the plan benefited both Jefferson and Hamilton because of improvements on infrastructure. Firstly the American System mostly balanced Hamilton�s vision for the economy more than Jefferson�s vision because of a protective tariff that was put on all imported goods, making international goods more expensive and American ones cheaper.
