Marketing Mix The marketing mix, also known as the four P's of marketing, consists of product, price, place, and promotion. Marketing mix are the elements of marketing that the company can control. In order for the marketing mix to be effective the product has to appeal to the consumers in the company's target market. The price of the product also has to be affordable to the consumers. The product has to be useful to the market (place), and the promotions need to appeal to the consumers in the chosen market. The first decision in the marketing mix is what product the company wants to offer. The following is some example of the decisions that need to be made for the product: brand name, functionality, styling, quality, safety, packaging, repairs and support, warranty, accessories and services. Once the product is chosen the company must then decide at what price they need to sell the product to make a decent profit.
