My thesis finds that the threats that Islam and the West pose to each other are very serious and can develop into a 3rd world war conflict. I support the opinion that a clash of civilizations is a real threat, which will only become a more and more reality. Samuel Huntington predicted in 1996 that the Western world and the Islamic world are opposites and will have one of the most conflicting relationships. Some reasons for the West and Islam to have more chance on conflict then other civilizations are: Christianity and Islamic religion both are missionary religions, they are universal 'all or nothing' religions and they both believe that their specific values and beliefs represent the goals of existence and the best way to live. These similarities ask for an endless battle. I will support my thesis by dividing the subject in two parts. First of all, what is the threat from the West to the Islam. Secondly, what is the threat from the Islam to the West? Afterwards I will provide my personal conclusion. ....
