In the summer of 2006 I sat in a Downtown Harrisburg's court room awaiting a murder trial. This was my first time in a court room ever so it looked just like a movie to me. The seats were wooden and uncomfortable, the wooden wall separated the people involved in the case and the audience, and the desk where the judge made major decisions was huge. Armed cops protected the judge's desk and the court room and a recorder of everything said was sitting in the corner. The jury was seated off to the side and they all had blank faces on. This was my first case and it was all I thought it would be. The defendants name was Terrell Vines and he was a 22 year old male. As me and my best friend sat in the back of the court room we thought about how crazy this situation was. Another black male charged with murder. It happens often where I come from. Only 22 years of age and had a whole life ahead of him to look forward to. He had a daughter who was 3 years old and a family who loved him, now all because he put his self in a bad situation he has to spend his life behind bars. This young mans life....
