I made the decision because of the idea that eating a once living animal is wrong, but it has evolved into more than that. I made this extreme change in my life as a young third grader, and it has greatly impacted the rest of my life. "Mom why would I want to eat something that used to be alive," was one of my more common questions around the dinner table. The idea of eating a once living chicken was, and still is, beyond my comprehension. Although my parents would always tell me that that is the circle of life I didn't take that as satisfactory.
