Rene Levesque-Head of Parti Quebecois for first referendum
Rene Levesque is the former head of Parti Quebecois and a premier of province Quebec. Many remember him as a Canadian politician and leader of Quebec's separatist movement. Rene is the eldest of his family. He was born in the Hotel Dieu Hospital in Campbellton, New Brunswick. His family moved to New Carlisle, Quebec where he was raised. Later on, Rene Levesque attended a college in New Carlisle. Afterward Rene went the Saint-Charles-Garnier College in Quebec City for further academic development. He studied for a law degree at University Laval in Quebec City. However Rene left the university in 1943 without having completing the law degree.
He worked as a gai dancer, and news writer at the radio station CHNC in New Carlisle. Then he worked as a substitute announcer for CHRC during 1941 and 1942, and then at CBV in Quebec City. He has also served the Canadian Army during 1944-1945 and went to Europe joined the armed forces in combat against the German Nazis. ......
