The story A Jury of Her Peers by Susan Glaspell has to do with life in the Mid-West. Being a woman in this region was like being trapped for life. Women were treated like children. The men would watch over them as if they were infants at a daycare. They were tied down, nothing to offer the world, but their love. A woman took care of the work around the house. A direct quote from this story that shows how women stuck together is "We all go through the same things it's all just a different kind of the same thing! One may say that this quote has to do with women sticking together. A literary device used in this story is symbolism. The kitchen is the domain of the wife. It is always clean and never left unclean.
