Executive Summary
Adult day centers are the fastest growing segment in long-term care. They are community-based group programs designed to meet the needs of functionally and/or cognitively impaired adults through an individual plan of care. These structured, comprehensive programs provide a safe, friendly, daytime home for adults who are socially isolated, have a physical impairment, or a memory or mental disorder. Older adults can receive a variety of social, health, and other related support services in a protective environment throughout the day.
