Some women feel as though they dont have a voice that can be heard. Many issues are being raised today in the Middle East where, honor killings, forced marriages, the unequal application of hard punishments on women, or the denial of education to girls and women (Umm Zaid). These women do have a voice, but its silent and hidden deep inside. They fear to go against their civilization. Also, rape has been an issue in our society for a lengthy time. Just a simple, yet powerful word, no, said by a woman, cant save her from being a rape victim. Some women act as followers to disguise themselves and their true feelings. Middle-Eastern women are required to wear a purdah, a sheath or covering, to shield their identity. Additionally, some women, when asked about their opinions, go along with whatever someone has to say, or say nothing at all, even if they have a different opinion on it.
