The Importance of Punctuality
Many tend to think the process of employment ends after the application is completed, turned in, and accepted by the employer. The application, however, is only the first step in the employment process. Once accepted for the job, an employee is expected to exert and maintain specific qualities and responsibilities throughout the entire job experience. Punctuality, for example, is essential when having a job because it is required to ensure an effective business and it also shows the importance of the job to the employee. Failure to arrive on time causes much inconvenience to the business and also to the rest of the staff. For example, an employee that arrives ten minutes late every shift causes the prior employee to wait an extra ten minutes before leaving. As the problem continues, the other employees become more upset with the worker and boss for ignoring the issue. The staff may then begin to feel the boss portrays favoritism to the tardy worker by allowing the repeated tardiness. Also, other workers may begin to arrive late in thinking the behavior......
