The two books being compared: “To kill a Mocking Bird” by Harper Lee and “Glass Menagerie” by Tennessee Williams, are both closely related to each other as they are written in the same period: 1930s, which was a period of economic difficulties for families as well as individuals in North America. They also both focus on family’s life and show how different aspects of their lives help readers to understand characters as well as influence individual characters to grow specific traits by the end of each book. Both books are mainly focused on one symbol and they are: the symbol of Mocking Bird in “To Kill a Mocking Bird” and the symbol of the set of glass menagerie in “The Glass Menagerie.” In “To Kill a Mocking Bird”, the symbol of a mocking bird represents innocence......
