Romeo and Juliet is a romantic tragedy between a pair of star-crossed lovers who take their life. As Juliets plan to fake her own death gets mis-understood by a young Romeo, he, in despair kills himself. When Juliet sees Romeo dead she too, takes her own life. Romeo is the only son of the Montague family and is romantically inclined man. At the start of the play he is deeply in love with a young lady called Rosaline but that all changes as he meets Juliet, the daughter of his rival family. Juliet is the Capulets only child, coming up to 14 years of age, is very obedient to her parents. But that is, until she meets the young man Romeo. Juliet's role in the play is very strong and important. Her actions that she takes make the play really dramatic and exciting. Her role also makes the Elizabethan audience shocked and appalled as she rejects her fathers plans to get her married with Paris.
