To Kill a Mockingbird, by Harper Lee, Atticus Finch is a lawyer, loving father, and one of the community’s smartest members. Atticus has two kids, Jem, a 9 year-old boy and Scout, a 5 year-old girl. You might think they have a pretty good life, but a lot of controversies roll around the Finch family. Atticus is relied heavily on solving these controversies. Atticus Finch is the most significant character in the story because he is a caring father, a lawyer that won’t give up, and one of the people that the community looks up to and depends on most. Atticus is one of the most influential and controlling lawyers in the town of Maycomb. He fights for what is right for his clients and for what is right for justice. “Mr. Ewell,” Atticus began,”folks were doing a lot of running that night. Let’s see, you say you ran to the house, you ran to the window, you ran inside, you ran to Mayella, you ran for Mr. Tate.
