Often considered the greatest female jazz singer of all time, Billie Holiday was truly a motivational and inspirational woman of her time. Her very distinctive voice and personality on stage captivated the world around her. The documentation of Holidays life is known to be imprecise at times, as many dates and instances are not known to be entirely true. However all agree that the early life of Billie Holiday was very harrowing. The trials and tribulations that Holiday underwent are what helped mold her into the woman and singer that she became. Her singing expressed an incredible depth of emotion that spoke of hard times and injustice as well as triumph.
