How fair was the treaty of Versailles? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In my essay I will be discussing whether the Treaty of Versailles was fair. The treaty of Versailles was a peace treaty which officially ended World War I. The treaty was signed on 28th June 1919 after six long months of negotiation which took place at the Paris Peace Conference. As a result of the treaty the League of Nations was formed which was intended to settle international disputes to avoid future wars. The treaty was originally drafted by Woodrow Wilson of America who remained neutral enabling him to write a fair treaty. Only four of Wilson’s ‘Fourteen Points’ were realized, since Wilson was forced to compromise with George Clemenceau of France, Lloyd George of England and Vittorio Orlando of Italy on some points in exchange for retaining approval for the League of Nations. When the negotiations were under way it was decided that Germany was not allowed to take part in the discussions.
