The standard for American schools has noticeably declined over the years. It has dramatically fallen behind the standards of other countries. Instead of encouraging students to try their best and pushing them to their limits, schools have accepted mediocre efforts and students that are just getting by. American schools no longer have fixed standards for all students. As long as schools keep dropping the standard, more and more people will be able to meet it.
