The two holocausts both did a great deal a damage to not only the areas that they were in but also to the entire world. The holocaust in Germany killed over six million jews. Two hundred thousand Japanese were also killed in Hiroshima because of the bomb and many were sick or injured. Because so many people were sick and injured, I think that the needs of the many outweighs the needs of a few or one in certain situations. Those who were sick and injured needed to be catered to or they could of died, and saving many lives outweighs one mans needs. In Germany for example, the needs of those jews strongly surpasses anything I could think of. The jews needed the courage to fight off the Nazis and the will to push further and survive until help arrived which strongly outweighs the need of one man to be comfortable in his home or his need to get a quarter pounder at Mcdonalds. In Hiroshima, I think the exact opposite of the quote. The needs of one man surpassed the needs of many because if many people needed to be healed of their injures, but the only ones capable were the doctors, ......
