What Ache? About Half-way through the July 2009 issue of Popular Mechanics, I turn the page, and my eyes get diverted from the story I was in the middle of. The bright colors of the page containing an ad for the popular over-the-counter pain medication, Excedrin, immediately grab my attention. Not only do the colors catch my eye, but the use of several different sized fonts do as well. Overall I believe this ad would convince readers to purchase Excedrin Back and Body. As I said, the first thing I noticed when looking at this ad were the colors. The top half of the page is red, and the bottom half is green. The choice of colors in this particular ad reminded me of a red and green light, implying stop and go. In the top half of the page, the red half, there is text in large font and all capitals, that reads, "BACK PAIN IN THE MORNING." With this text, on the red background it is easy to see why I thought the red implied stop. Another word I might used is halt, because as we all know back pain can bring any and all plans one might have to a stop, or halt. Separating th......
