Service is becoming one of the biggest sectors in the world and together with the wave of globalization, the hotel industry is evolving more than ever before. Customers are today put against thousands of offers through our new information-based society. This has led to them being more critical and aware of the dynamic pricing that many hotels practice. Our aim is to investigate the HORESTA classification system, which is a good source for customers to know what they can expect of a hotel in Denmark. Therefore, the purpose is to see what impact a change in classification would have for a hotel and investigate whether it is realizable or not for a three-star hotel to advance to a four-star.
1.2 Problem formulation
DGI-byen is a local three-star hotel with a strong position on the market. We aim to look deeper into their strategy to see how they position themselves in the market of three-star hotels. What effects does their classification have on their position? What happens with their current market demand if they advance to a four-star hotel?......
