Overcoming Racial Injustice - The Power of One Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

In the movie "The Power of One" directed by John G Avildsen in 1992, an important idea is that of overcoming racial injustice. The director uses the "A morning run full of questions" scene and the "The answer in nature" scene to symbolize this idea. Avildsen does this with the use of many visual and verbal techniques such as camera shots, colour, costume and music. "The Power of One" is a movie focused on racial injustice and how the power of one person can influence and change so much for the greater good. It also displays the hardships and difficult decisions a revolutionist must go through to achieve their results, but also that the benefits of their results are worth much more to people whose lives have been helped. The movie is set in Africa between 1930 and 1948. The movie follows PK in his attempts to aid the "Blacks" in their quest for equality. It was PK's dream to rid the land of the racial hatred expressed towards the "Blacks". The racism towards the "Blacks" is demonstrated in many ways in the scene......
