One could argue that politics have encompassed all civilizations since the dawn of time. Where a congregation of people
could be found, such things as: hierarchies, divisions of labor, and a cultural identity could be seen, even at a minuscule
level. In Mesoamerica one predominate culture that erected around 1325 was the Aztec people. The Aztec culture was one of
the more progressive and monumental of all early indian civilizations. They prided themselves in being a tributary empire.
Tributes being made to the Aztecs only added to the wealth that columbus described in his letters about the new world. This
vast wealth is what awed the Spanish, and lead Cortes to conquer the Aztecs in 1521.
However, it was not until Queen Elizabeth I allowed Sir Francis Drake to raid Spanish ships and loot St. Augustine,
FL (1577-1585), that the English saw the treasures the Amerindians, and the Spanish, had discovered. These new findings set
the English on a scurry to get their hands on some of the profits the new world was churning out. The first travels to the
