How is The Time Machine representative of the late victorian era? Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The Time Machine is a classical novel written by a very famous short story and novel writer, H.G. Wells. This was the book that launched H.G. Wells’ literary career when published in 1895. The story is about a middleclass man who develops a theory about travelling through time and tells his friends and colleagues about it. Through this man we can tell that Wells is trying to answer questions that so many scientists were pondering about in his day and in this present day. In the story this man is referred to as the “Time Traveller”. Later into chapters two and three the Tine Traveller tells his friends and colleagues about his experience while time travelling and what he saw. Once the story has been told in the book some of the people who are listening do not believe a word he has said. After this, we read that the Traveller has gone back into time and has not returned to the present day in the book as quoted by Hillyer, the bit part narrator in the book. He starts the novel as a narrator and ends being the narrator, having taken over again after the Time Traveller has told his sto......
