Biology STEM CELL RESEARCH I chose to do my report on stem cell research, because this is a subject that I hold dear to my heart. Due to my own life experiences I believe that it is wrong to use an embryonic stem cell to grow other cell. Even though it is said to be beneficial to prolonging the life span of ill patients, it is wrong to end a life before it has begun. However, there is a new technology that has been shown in principle that embryonic stem sell lines can be generated using a single-cell biopsy similar to that used in preimplantation genetic diagnosis that may allow stem cell creation without embryonic destruction. Some pro-lifers, like myself, and most pro-life organizations regard the destruction of the blastocyst, which is a laboratory-fertilized human egg, to be the murder of human life. We believe that life begins at conception, and that destruction of this pre-born life is morally unacceptable.
