Thoughts on Credit Cards Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report
Credit card applications started pling up before my eighteenth birthday. I used to wonder what the motivation was for credit card comapies and 'why did they want to give me a vacation?' So, pulled out my magnifying glass and read the fine print. It was then I realized, as with all small print, they were trying to trick me out of my money.
It's strange that these companies make so much money from people who are in debt. I could live comfortably for the rest of my life on the money that they spend on papter and ink in one year. The credit cards remind me of modern day coal mine because they trap you just as the company stores did in the mining communites. Company stores had everything you needed and it was alright if you couldn't pay for it right away. They'd just put it on the bill. So, you could live your entire life without ever seeing any money for your labors and leave the debt with your children. "You load sixteen tons and what do you get? Another day older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don't you call me cause I can't go. I owe my soul to the company store."
