The Jungle by Upton Sinclair depicts the realism in the working class in the 1920s. He depicted how life really is in the working industry, not how we would like for it to be. Upton Sinclair spent approximately three months talking with workers that worked at the Chicago meat packing plants and he also visited the meat packing plants itself. He would visit the packing plants on official basis and in disguise.
