A Little Princess Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The book “A Little Princess” talks about a little girl named Sara Crewe. She lives in India with her papa Captain Crewe. One day her papa takes her to England where she goes to school at a Seminary for Young Ladies. Sara has to stay in this seminary for years, until she is old enough to take over her papa’s business. At the seminary, Sara is treated as if she were a princess. But one day, a man comes to the seminary, tells her that her papa died over stress and the lost of his money to a diamond mine. All of Captain Crewe’s money was gone. The head mistress was about to kick her out. But she realized that if she did so and people found out what she did, all her pupils will leave, the head mistress kept Sara. Sara had to live in the attic next to a scullery maid named Becky. They became friends and lived through the hardships together. Sara made up stories to make their day pass by faster and pretended they were princesses to live the days of scolding and errands.
