Although the three European powers, Spain, British, and France establish their own colonies and trading posts in the Americas, their colonies are very different with respect to organizing structure, economies, as well as their relation with the Native Americans.
To begin with, their colonies are created in different area of the Americas. Spanish colonies are concentrated in the Central and South America, including the West Indian Islands. These areas, especially Mexico and Peru, are where the advanced civilizations are located. Therefore, they held rich prizes, like gold and silver. For this reason, the colonies economy is base almost entirely on gold and Encomienda, which is a technique to cover up the slavery of Indians.
The British on the other hand, because of an economic depression in the late 1500 that causes thousands of farmers to be jobless and homeless, went to the America looking for job and land opportunities.
