William Blake idealized the Importance of human emotion, passion and innocence as being central to human intelligence, as represented in his poem The Garden of Love (1794). Sir Luke Fildes artist of The Widower however depicts an image adverse to societys beliefs undermining Victorian middle class ideology and representing social realism.
