Julius Caesar - Analogy Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

Analyze closely the thought process of Brutus as revealed in Act 2, Scene 1, and lines 10-34. I have sometimes wondered what makes a certain person kill another person. In this essay we are going to analyze the thought processes of Brutus were he reasons with himself, in his head, as to why he and the other conspirators should assassinate Julius Caesar. The conspiracy to assassinate Caesar was not Brutus’s idea; it was Cassius and Casca who initiated the idea to murder Caesar. Cassius approaches Brutus explaining his reasons why he (Cassius) thinks Brutus must join the conspiracy explaining that it would be for the good of Rome that Caesar be murdered before he becomes a tyrant. He went on to say that if Brutus joined the conspiracy it would make it honorable because Brutus was an honorable and noble man. In the soliloquy of Brutus he tells the audience exactly what his reasons are for assassinating Caesar. First Brutus says that Caesar must be killed and that he has no personal cause to do so.
