Classic Airlines and Marketing Multiple marketing concepts are covered in the classic airlines and marketing scenario (UOP 2010) as the company attempts to draw customers back to its product and services. The airline has had a strong customer base which was marketed to directly, and formed an overall relationship market strategy. As the market place is getting more competitive a holistic approach is being pursued that looks at internals as well. The company is in transition and through the multiple concepts shown in the scenario has many options on how to proceed. Current model The airline in the past has followed a fragmented marketing model which touched on multiple models, but failed to integrate them into one overall model. One model followed has been a relationship model in which mutual long term relationships were developed and maintained. The establishment of the relationship marketing effect with its customers was accomplished by implementing reward programs that encourage them to continue booking flights over time.
