Book Thief and the Catcher in the Rye Free Essay, Term Paper and Book Report

The Book Thief, by Markus Zusak is about a young German girl, around the age of ten, that is living in the time of the Holocaust, in Nazi Germany. Even though she is German she still faces many of the horrors that many millions of Jews faced at the time. The book is narrated by Death, which through the book is as a main character as the young girl, named Liesel is. This gives us a whole new way of looking at the book and at the meaning of it. Catcher In the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, is about a teenage boy, around the age of sixteen, that has just recently been kicked out of school. In total he has been kicked out of four schools. Pencey Prep being his latest. He was supposed to get on the Wednesday, with everybody else, but instead, decides to get out earlier and have a secretive trip on his own for the weekend. The book is narrated by the main character, Holden Caulfield, which gives a a better view of the world through his eyes.
