Topic: The Declaration of Independence states “ all men are created equal.” How true was this concept then and is it true today? The fourteenth amendment issues equal rights of the laws to all, and deprives none of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. In addition the Declaration of independence states “ all men are created equal” and Thomas Jefferson said, “We hold the truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” All these precedent assert an ideal freedom for all, but now has it, is it, and will it ever be put to practice? The question then is, now was there ever an “absolute freedom” for all? If so, then where and what is it like and whom can we find that has mastered it to teach us? In my opinion, the concept that “all men are created equal” did not apply to everyone, it was generally these white European men that fled Great Britain to a new continent to start a new order of things; but how fair......
