Every book has things to say, every text has lessons to teach; there is value in the opinions and written musings of all. Although one can draw similarities in almost any combinations of literature, it is rare to find two texts so blatantly similar yet so remarkably distinct on so many levels. This was the rarity that became so rapidly evident after conducting initial readings of both In the Skin of a Lion and of Shake Hands with the Devil. Further analysis would prove these findings even more conclusive and despite the seemingly drastic and unworkable differences in the literary styles of the authors, the valuable messages that they preached were inherently similar. The best means through which to compare any texts is of course theme, and the aforementioned books only further proved this premise by their discussion of the central topic of justice.
