Views of Ancient Greek Homosexuals
Unlike our current society, sexuality was not used to identify an individuals social status in ancient Greek times. On the contrary, it was used only in identifying with activities. Furthermore, Greek society did not conform to society norms in displaying their desires or behaviors by the genders involved. Instead, their norms were based on age and social status. In addition, their homosexual relationship tirades, and expressions were those of love, devotion and distinct limitations. The most common and documented relationships were those of male-male relationships, and not lesbianism. This is not to say that it did not exist; however, the reports of the female-female relationships are uncommon throughout current historical reports.
