Our decisions and purchasing habits are influenced by the people we are with and the advertisements we see or base our purchases on routine-response behaviour. However, when we shop alone, we take more time and are more willing to look into new products as well. I chose to observe the customers at the Price Choppers by McCowan and Ellesmere on an early Monday afternoon.
Summary
Based on my observations on individual shoppers and consumers shopping in groups at Price Choppers, there are several differences in consumer behaviour between the two; how consumers make their purchasing decisions, how long they take to make their purchases and other habits they exhibit in a grocery store. Below are observations that describe in detail how consumers act in each aspect.
