The aim of the Republic is very simple: to discover what justice is, and to show that it is more beneficial, in a certain sense of that word, that its contrary, injustice (White, 13). On the whole, Plato believes that justice is needed in the life of both the state and the individual to accumulate a specific structure to ones individual and societal life. Therefore the basic plan of Plato is to draw an analogy between the operation of the society as a whole and the life of any individual human being. In this essay I will present Thrasymachus and Glaucons objections toward justice. I will then describe and evaluate Platos conception of Justice in a summarized form, mainly focusing on the state and the individual. To conclude I will contribute my personal opinion. Thrasymachus is the third person to declare his definition of justice. He is very confident in that his definition is better of the other two, Cephalus and Polemarchus.
